Dane Cook: I Did My Best is a stand-up comedy special by American comedian Dane Cook, released on July 5, 2006, through Comedy Central Records. The special was filmed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. It was Cook’s second hour-long special, following 2005’s Retaliation. I Did My Best was met with negative reviews from critics, who criticized Cook’s material as unoriginal and pandering.
Despite the critical panning, I Did My Best was a commercial success, selling over a million copies and becoming the best-selling comedy album of 2006. Cook’s popularity at the time, coupled with the album’s extensive marketing campaign, contributed to its commercial success. I Did My Best was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album, but lost to Lewis Black’s The Carnegie Hall Performance.
